2024 aNNUAL gIVING

"Is there really still no test for early detection of most GYN cancers? In this day and age?" It’s a question we hear at the Laura Crandall Brown Foundation regularly, from people all over the state. And we get it. We’re (im)patiently waiting for a scientific breakthrough too! Thanks to YOUR generosity, however, we are doing our part to help. Your support allows us to continue funding seed grants for research physicians striving to develop a test to detect GYN cancers at an early stage, before they progress.

In the meantime, you are helping us care for those already battling this disease in so many ways. From advocating for awareness at the state level, to educating women and their families across Alabama and beyond about the signs and symptoms, to encouraging regular doctor visits, your donation helps us be there for these women. It also enables us to provide direct assistance for patients going through treatment.

Imagine going through chemotherapy or radiation, barely able to lift your head, all while trying to support your family. Holding a job can become impossible during treatment, yet bills still come due. Thanks to you, we can provide assistance with rent, utilities, gas for travel to treatment, and so much more to ease these burdens.

Once again, we’re asking you to give from the heart to support our mission of research, awareness, and patient care. Won’t you please consider making a 100% tax-deductible donation to LCBF? Every dollar, large or small, helps in the fight to end GYN cancers. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. Let’s continue this journey together UnTEAL there is a cure and the question of ‘WHEN?’ becomes a thing of the past.

“The mission of the Laura Crandall Brown Foundation is three fold. Support for Gynecologic cancer research, support and education for patients and their families, as well as increasing awareness of gynecologic cancers. Alabama ranks as the #1 state with the highest rate of death from cervical cancer. Without the research that brought me DNA sequencing and Keytruda, I may well not be here now. The insights that brought the cold cap and cold therapy to reduce hair loss and neuropathy has greatly improved my quality of life since my chemotherapy.
My final advice. If something does not feel right, listen to your body and seek medical attention immediately! We caught my cancer early. I have come to know patients who did not listen to their bodies and waited too long. The same cancer and same treatment, but they lost their battle. I urge you to support the
Laura Crandall Brown Foundation.”
